Brian Brunson was born 1976 in Detroit, Michigan. Brunson started playing baseball at the age of 9. The development and rearing of baseball skills took place in The Northwest Detroit Little League. Brunson participated on several All-Star teams as a P/OF. Brunson went on to attend Cass Tech for high school. He played Varsity baseball all
Brian Brunson was born 1976 in Detroit, Michigan. Brunson started playing baseball at the age of 9. The development and rearing of baseball skills took place in The Northwest Detroit Little League. Brunson participated on several All-Star teams as a P/OF. Brunson went on to attend Cass Tech for high school. He played Varsity baseball all 4 years achieving All-City honors (92-95) and All-State honors (94-95). Upon graduating from Cass Tech Brunson went on to play college baseball at Southern University as Pitcher/Catcher. Brunson graduated in 2001 with his degree in Special Education Mild/Moderate Learning Disabilities. In 2003, Brunson started on his coaching journey to be a voice and vessel to the youth. Coaching stops include Plaquemine High School (2002-04), Consortium Prep (2005-2008), Chandler Park Academy (2009-2011), Mumford High School (2013-2017). In 2012, Brunson started Michigan Heavy Hitters Sports as a training and development program for kids (6-17) in the inner city of Detroit. The Heavy Hitters Sports umbrella specializes in individual and group training, camps, clinics and showcases. Brunson graduated from Wayne State University in 2016 with his Masters in Sports Administration. In 2017, he moved to Houston, Texas to establish Heavy Hitters Sports to the surrounding communities in Houston. Currently Heavy Hitters Sports is servicing over 70 kids in Houston. Over the past 20 years, Brunson has played an integral part in youth and player development as well as helping numerous kids go to college to play baseball.
