With over two decades of experience as both a player and coach, Jason Anderson has built a reputation for developing talent and leading successful programs at the high school and collegiate levels.

With over two decades of experience as both a player and coach, Jason Anderson has built a reputation for developing talent and leading successful programs at the high school and collegiate levels.
As a student-athlete (1997-2002) and assistant coach (2002-2006, 2014-2015) at Southern University, Anderson played a key role in the Jaguars’ dominance in the SWAC, contributing to five conference tournament titles (1999, 2001-2003, 2005) and four NCAA regional appearances (1999, 2001-2003, 2005). During his tenure, the Jaguars became one of the winningest Division I programs in the country.
Following his time at Southern, Anderson transitioned into high school coaching in Georgia, accumulating 11 successful seasons as a head coach. He has led programs at Clarkston HS (2008-2010), Southwest DeKalb HS (2011), South Atlanta HS (2016-2019), and Mays HS (2022-present).
Anderson returned to Southern University in 2015, helping the Jaguars reach the SWAC Championship Game after a four-year postseason drought. Under his leadership, the team saw increases in all offensive categories and improved their win total by 12 games.
After one season at Southern, he returned to Atlanta as the head coach of both the baseball and softball programs at South Atlanta HS (2016-2019). Anderson made an immediate impact, winning Region 6-2A championships in softball (2016-2017) and baseball (2017). His teams set school records for single-season wins (14 in both sports) and secured number-one seeds in the playoffs. Over his tenure, 23 of his players earned All-Region honors.
In 2021, Anderson was hired as the head baseball coach at Benjamin E. Mays HS, where he had the privilege of coaching Termarr Johnson, the 4th overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Beyond his coaching accomplishments, Anderson is a dedicated husband to Roshaunda Anderson and a proud father to their daughter, Ryelyn Anderson (5).
